Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican American broadcaster. Her employer is ESPN and is the SportsCenter News Anchor. She joined ESPN in the year 2016. She is a daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta Collins is a bilingual woman and has been so since when she was nine years old. The ability to speak two languages allowed her to land her first job with Univision, Miami. She was able to work as a producer for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. The next position she was offered was reporter for sports at CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to work as an investigative reporter for The Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. In 2009, she moved to Rio Grande Valley in Texas in which she was a reporter for KNVO 48 Univision and Fox2 News. She also filled in for sports anchors and weather forecasters. She then anchored and reported for Univision's Dallas affiliate Deportes 23 where she was assigned more responsibility. She reported on the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. Also, she produced Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra, on which she acted as anchor. She has been promoted to sports anchor on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. She worked in the same role for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network as well as Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. Her birth date was November 22nd on the 22nd of October, 1985 in Mexico City. Also, she has a younger sibling. The family in 1992 left Mexico and moved to Miami. After a while they separated, and, in 1995 Fabio Fajardo got married again. He died from kidney cancer in the year 2006. On a family vacation in Ohio, the young Collins took a place with her older sister. Antonietta who was in high school with an idea of what she wanted her future to be, visited Mount Union University in order to find out what she could get out of the college. The campus was beautiful and provided the education she sought. When she completed her high school education she attended the university to study media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor was also the station managing director at WRMU (91.1 FM) which was where she felt at home. Professor Bergmann encouraged her to believe in herself and was deeply moved by his love of journalism.
